I am fascinated with how light plays upon surfaces. As a teenager I spent much time underwater floating in a ocean of light watching light patterns reflect upon the corals and fish. Perhaps this is why in my artwork I seem to be on an ongoing exploration of the ways that light plays upon materials. This has lead me through working with glass, mirror, and now a transfer technique using acrylic mediums, which I call 'skins'.
For me the luminous qualities they offer with light acting upon them and sometimes through them bring me into a delicious sense of suspending time into a luminous present.
It is my wish that my work might bring others into this type of seeing which to me is of one of exquisite beauty.
